CONFLICT IN THE MIDDLE EAST
The Middle East, the Arab - Israeli conflict, have always obtained from
worldwide attention and not many know what happens in reality, for this reason. Continuously in all newspapers and different mass media in the world will
its pages and spaces dedicated to reporting on further developments happen
here. As is well known, the area known as The Middle East is a region
where in the world presents many conflicts, especially since 1945.
The clashes and wars have never stopped and have rarely seen any sign of peace within
of that region. TheMiddle East is Egypt, Sudan, Jordan, Syria, Levan, Iraq,
Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Iran, Turkey, The Republic of Yemen, Arab Emirates, and Oman.
Where almost all these countries except Turkey and Iran, the Arabs and live in
most country immensely rich in natural resources such as oil.
The Middle East also contains a small Jewish state of Israel, which was founded by
The United States ofAmerica in 1948 in Palestine. The creation of Israel in
Palestine, an area geographically belonged to the Arabs, caused conflict within the
worldwide. Where were blamed mainly England and the United States of America
saying that those countries attached much approval the Jewish people that the Arab. For
which the Arab states refused any legal foundation of Israel, and pledged her destruction. Time after the failed attempts of the Arab people and the Israeli people
survived. However, the conflict has not solution to the present day. Such being
its importance to the conflict attracted much attention and interest by the hidden
different world blocs like the U.S., Europe and communist powers. All this
Because of its geographical location and its wealth of oil and other resourcesas it had
mentioned in the description of the region.
Israel and Hamas are at war in the Gaza Strip and southern Israel. Israel maintains that
their recent offensive is due to the attacks by Hamas into southern Israel. Hamas, in turn,
argues that the attacks are their response to the siege of Gaza and the occupation of Palestine. An Israel can respond to this occupation, at least inGaza, completed over three
years and that the blockade is also a consequence of other attacks on Israel that came before.
So each side can continue digging back, accusing the other of being the guilty and
cause of the current situation to which no solution is seen.
In the other hand appears the cost of the conflict a report by Strategic Foresight Group has estimated the opportunity cost ofconflict for the Middle East from 1991-2010 at $12 trillion. The report's opportunity cost calculates the peace GDP of countries in the Middle East by comparing the current GDP to the potential GDP in times of peace. Israel's share is almost $1 trillion, with Iraq and Saudi Arabia having approximately $2.2 and $4.5 trillion, respectively. In other words, had there been peace and cooperation betweenIsrael and Arab nations since 1991, the average Israeli citizen would be earning over $44,000 instead of $23,000 in 2010. [101]
In terms of the human cost, estimates range from 51,000 fatalities (35,000 Arabs and 16,000 Jews) from 1950 to 2007, [102] to 92,000 fatalities (74,000 military and 18,000 civilian from 1945 to 1995).
Chronology of conflict:
at the end of British rule in Palestine andthe founding of the State of Israel on part of that territory, where he sought refuge a lot of Jews on account of Nazi persecution. For several years, England had been favorable to Zionism and Jews had promised they would be given a territory to establish their nation in the Palestinian lands, which, according to the particular Jewish historical tradition, belonged to them as inheritance their...
