Vision:
By giving a face to biodiversity, each species will be preserved in knowledge and in nature
for current and future generations.
Mission:
From our niche of creating compelling photographs of imperiled species and habitats, we
work through partnerships, science and education to:

Conserve the planet’s rapidly vanishingbiodiversity

Improve human well-being through a healthy environment, and

Preserve the cultural heritage associated with the species.

We protect endangered species and their habitats, using unique photographs and scientific
information to develop and strengthen projects that advance science, empower conservation
and promote environmental education.
Finding Species brings the naturalworld to a broad audience so that each person feels a part
of that world and is compelled to understand and conserve it.

Courses, Volunteers, and The Conservation Network
Courses

learn more about the natural resources of Ecuador
in an exciting, enjoyable and memorable way,
traveling to different regions, entering the amazingrainforest, walking the majestic páramos, and
enjoying of the Galapagos Islands. It works with
professional course leaders who are specialists in
ecology, sociology, archaeology, conservation,
photography and many more areas and have years
of experience in their field.
The itineraries range from short, half-day courses
on specific subjects to three week programs which
involve multiple excursions.Finding Species can
coordinate all the in-country logistics and activities
according to the needs of the individual,
maximizing the benefit for both individuals and
groups.

Volunteers
Finding Species offers volunteer

including field experience in a variety of
areas: nature photography, environmental
education, scientific research in the field
and datacollection. This project is
designed for individuals and groups

endangered species and habitats, visit
beautiful places in a tropical country, and

communities. It is open to all interested in
contributing to work in environmental
conservation and promoting best practices.
Volunteers learn and develop new skills,
increasetheir field experience and
participate in activities to preserve species,
their habitats, and the people who depend
upon them.

The Conservation Network
Finding Species coordinates the activities of a new network of independent reserves and
projects in all of the ecosystems throughout Ecuador. This network serves as a platform for
the exchange of information, materials and experiences;increases efficiency in research and
volunteering; and creates new ties among local groups. Moreover, the participating
institutions benefit from Finding Species’ skills in photography and the promotion of their
activities. From the high-mountain prairies down to the coral reefs, Finding Species is
supporting conservation and sustainable development efforts at every level.
