Saludos
Es costumbre entre los indios saludarse diciendo namaste y uniendo las manos frente al pecho, bajo lasmejillas, otras muestras de afecto como darse las manos o abrazarse son consideras impropias entre un hombre y una mujer, no ocurre lo mismo enel caso de las del mismo sexo, por ejemplo es habitual ver a dos hombres darse la mano e incluso caminar de la mano.

Algunos gestos tienenaquí un significado distinto que en occidente. Para decir "si" a menudo sonríen y mueven la cabeza de lado de forma similar a como enoccidente decimos "no". Mover la cabeza rápidamente de lado a lado (lo cual en occidente es símbolo de desacuerdo), significa que la personacomprende lo que se le está diciendo.

Some gestureshave different meanings here in the West. To say "yes" often smile and shake their heads from side in a similar way as in the West say "no."Move your head quickly from side to side (which in the West is a symbol of disagreement), means that the person understands what is being said.
