Cotton Process
Cotton Mixing
Upon arrival at the spinning mill, cotton bales are sampled to control those fiber properties considered most critical in the process, such as micronaire, color, fiber strength and length.
These are all extremely important fiber properties, and a proper handling of them will optimized material flow and control for the most consistent results, and it will helpminimized barre and other problems
Blow room
Blow room installations consists of a sequence of different machines to carry out opening, cleaning, mixing or blending, micro dust removal and uniformfeed to the carding machine
Opening in blowroom means opening into small flocks. Technological operation of opening means the volume of the flock is increased while the number of fibres remainsconstant.
The process starts with the automatic bale opener, where lint from several bales is mixed and blended together to provide a uniform blend of fiber properties, The blended lint is blown by airfrom the feeder through chutes to cleaning where extraneous matter from cotton (which may hamper further cotton processing and affect quality) is removed. At this stage loose fibres are not aligned andparallel in a single continuous strand. Carding is the process of straightening or paralleling the fibres.
Carding
Card is the heart of the spinning mil, carding machines open the small cottonflocks into individual fibres, clean and eliminate impurities, reduce the number of neps, eliminate dust, eliminate short fibres, improves the fibre blending, separate and align the fibers into a thinweb. The web of fibers at the front of the card is then drawn through a funnel-shaped device called a trumpet, providing a soft, rope-like strand called a sliver.
Drawframe
Drawing is the finalprocess of quality improvement in the spinning mill, homogenization of sliver takes place in these machines, where as many as eight strands of sliver (normally 5 or 6 depending on the process) are blended...
