An economic crisis is a long-term economic state characterized by unemployment, low prices and weak levels of trade and investment.
The United-States and the world underwent two majoreconomic crises in different periods of time during the last century; The Great Depression (1929-1939) and The Great Recession (2008-2011).
The 1929 economic crisis started in United States ofAmerica, it affected many capitalist countries and lasted until the late 30’s. It’s the first mayor economic crisis in a capitalist system, caused by different factors, but mainly by the stock market Crashin 1929.

Main Causes:
An economic depression is a long-term downturn in economic activity and it’s a more severe than a recession.
The Great Depression or the 1929economic crisis had many different causes; in that period there was a huge overproduction of goods, massive debts, instable global economy and a financial crisis. The overproduction was facilitated bya diminution of the demand in the European continent, affected by the war. Americans began to take a lot of loans from banks, but unfortunately they weren´t able to pay them back. In this period oftime, the post-World War I period, the international economy was very instable. The ‘Crash’ was the trigger of this huge collapse; it was a direct cause of the Economic crisis. This financial crisis wasthe most devastating stock market crash in the history of the United States, and it occurred in October 1929.
Others causes of the crisis where a bad distribution of income, which provoke a stronginequality in receipt of income. This explains an increase in luxury goods and investment. All these costs are so inconsiderate contributed to the development of the crisis.
