I was living a life guided by carrots and sticks

After I read the portion of the Pink’s Book I realized that all motivations that I get as child and as an adult in the companies I am been workingis been the same situation both are been wrong, for example children are compelled to learn because of their natural curiosity in life. Older children seem to need a push in the direction to learn.This describes the two types of motivation. Intrinsic motivation describes the young child. It is motivation from within and the desire someone feels to complete a task, including natural curiosity.Intrinsic motivation is anything we do to motivate ourselves without rewards from an outside source.
In school when intrinsic motivation is mastered in a student, extrinsic motivation becomes null.This student will now be motivated to do things for his or herself without the presence of a tangible reward. Student motivation can be affected by several factors. These elements include parentinvolvement, teacher enthusiasm, rewards, peers, the learner’s environment, personal experiences, personal interests of the student, and self-esteem and self-image.
Parent involvement is one of the mostinfluential aspects of student motivation. The parents are the initial teachers of the child before the child goes to school and encounters education through a teacher. If a parent is completely engagedin the learning process with a child, there can be growth between the child and the parent simultaneously. The parents set an example for the child, so that the child understands that help is in theclassroom and at home.
Now as an adults we go to work for many different reasons: because they are board, or need to help support a family in this day in age it takes 2 incomes to support a familyand keep a home in running order with the cost of everything going up.
