The process that explains how a child can express his/her idea or ideas just by mentioning a single word and this single word can be interpreted and understood in many different ways according to the surrounding situations as holophrasic function or one-word utterance. Thatcould be explain as the use of single words to express a variety of semantic functions and complex ideas. So the child uses a single word to express their thoughts, for which mature speakers will use a whole sentence.
The name holophrastic comes from holo = whole and phras = phrase or sentence.
