Employers sometimes require employees to use assigned names to help sellproducts; for example, a company that does business mostly in one country but locates a call center in another country may require its employees to assume names common in the former country in aneffort to draw a more positive reaction from current and for prospective customers.
A nickname is a name different in origin and pronunciation from the original name. It can also be thefamiliar form of the proper name which may sometimes be used simply for convenience. A nickname is sometimes considered desirable, implying a form of acceptance, but can often be a form ofridicule.
Witness security program is protection of a threatened witness or any person involved in the justice system, including defendants and other clients, before, during and after atrial, usually by police. While a witness may only require protection until the conclusion of a trial, some witnesses are provided with new identity and may live out the rest of their livesunder government protection.
