Argentina 1975-1983
In 1943, Colonel Juan Peron of Argentina took power after overthrowing through military action. He was deposed in 1955, but returned to power in 1973. When he died in 1974 his third wife Isabel Peron became president. On March 24, 1976 a coup or military had been being planned for some time, overthrew Isabel Peron's presidency. The economic crisis and political rivalry duringhis rule had fueled the popular uprising, in turn creating this military coup. The commanders of the coup took power with a purpose, to eliminate all forms of popular participation in opposition to the political project of the armed forces, which would bring in Argentina changes in the political, economic and social. This was held so that the new scheme explores the repressive mechanisms thatwere put in mark in the previous government with the Triple A, repressing the psychologically country through fear and censorship. Creating from the moment a dictatorship led by three commanding generals, whose objectives were to reorganize the country, called "Military Junta" and whose members were: Jorge Rafael Videla, Emilio Eduardo Massera and Orlando Ramon Agosti.
