Diseccion De Corazon
The aim of this dissection is try to learn and observe the differences of a sheep and cow heart, which both had 5 years. We basically observed and studied the different parts of both hearts.KEY VARIABLES
- Dependent: The size and thickness of the atriums and ventricles of both hearts.
-Independent: The type of heart.
-Controlled: Both hearts have to have the same age and gender.METHODS TO CONTROL VARIABLES
-Dependent: We used a ruler and caliper, one to measure the thinckness of the walls, and the other one to measure the thickness and size of the atriums and ventricles.-Independent: Chosen both hearts, from a cow and sheep.
-Controlled: We controlled both animals had ate the same quantity of food and both had the same age.
QUALITATIVE DATA
Observations:
*Firstly, we dissected the sheep heart and we could immediately observe numerous clots inside.
* Another of the most impressive things we observed was the enormous aorta it had, but we discovered itwas that thick so it could pump oxygenated blood through all the body.
* We also noticed that the internal walls of the atriums were rough, and the internal walls of the ventricles were smooth.* By doing the dissection we also discovered the coronary arteries run through the centrum which is a wall that separates the left with the right ventricle.
* One of our impressions was that theaorta is bigger than the pulmonary arteries and that the left ventricle has thicker walls than the right one.
* By doing the dissection we also learned that the valves have some kind of stringswhich are called tendinous course, this are to prevent backflow of the blood.
