The food pyramid is a guide of what to eat each day to get the nutrients the body needs.
This pyramidis divided into groups. Those in the base should be eaten in greater quantity than those at the top of the pyramid. These are the groups:

• Cereals and derivatives (at the base of the pyramid).First level of the pyramid. 60% of what we eat daily should correspond to this group, rich in carbohydrates, which provide large amounts of energy.
• Vegetables. Second level of the pyramid. This groupgives us lots of fiber (which facilitate intestinal transit), vitamins and minerals.
• Fresh fruits. Second level of the pyramid, shared with the vegetables. This group provides vitamins andantioxidants.
• Milk and milk products. Third level of the pyramid. Provide calcium and protein of high biological value. You have to try this group consume daily. If overweight is recommended to consumeskimmed milk to reduce calorie intake.
