Have you ever wondered if we are alone? , If there is something more than us? , Well, you know that we are not alone. We spend our whole life on this planet that we call earth,but there are more planets than the one we live on. All those planets are different from each other, ones are bigger, other are smaller; they may be made of rock, other of gas, but they have somefeatures in common too. But there is a special planet that many scientists and scholars have researched over the years and is certainly our neighbor Mars, the red planet, and it certainly has somedifferences with the Earth.
One of the most notorious differences between Earth and Mars is the size. The earth is bigger than mars. The earth has an equatorial circumference of 40, 075, 017 km, in the otherhand, mars’ is 21, 343 km. it means that mars is nearly half of earth.
And what about the surface of these planets? .As we all know, although it is called Earth, most of the surface of this planetis covered by water, and the other part is land. There are mountains and valleys. Landscapes full of trees are a common view. Similarly, on mars there are mountains and valleys too, but a bigdifference is that on mars there is not water, it is a dried planet. There is some ice on the poles, but this ice is not made of water, like on earth, it is made carbon dioxide. On earth the highest mountainis the Everest, it is 8, 848 high. In the same way, on mars there is a highest mountain, which is Olympus mons, this mountain is about 22 km high (which is 25 times bigger than Everest). In addition,on mars is the deepest valley in the whole solar system, valleys mariners, in contrast with the deepest canyon on earth, this is up to 7 km deep, 7 times deeper than grand canyon in Arizona, USA.
