A ROLE FOR EDUCATIONAL PSYCHOLOGISTS

This article is about the role of the psychologist, which is demonstrate the effectiveness

of the service of psychology in order to achieve positiveoutcomes. On the other

hand, we can also say that psychologist are involved on detect and correct the

achievements of the children with problems (special education). To get it, the textpresents a framework of practical psychology. Therefore, there are two elements in the

psychologist’s role: psychological skills and psychological knowledge.

The text also said that themain problem of the life of the children is that the adults are

not considerate the children world, so they cannot integrate in society.

On the other hand, I think is important that thepsychologist have to find initiatives in

order to change the performance of the system through children.

I also find interesting that psychologist have to study the environment of child(parents,

friends, teachers…) because it exerts an influence in the child, so I think this is

important.

On the other hand, rapport also is very important to achieve the change and theoutcomes that the child needs. But we need three elements to get the change on the

child: Plan-Do-Review (PDR). (However, this model sometimes has some problems).

Plan implies to getinformation about the child with problems, and be able to facility a

change for him. After, we must to carry out the plan and finally we have to review it in

order to see that the change works. To sum up, we, psychologist, have to pick information, make a hypothesis and define

the outcomes. This is a cyclic process. So we have to support the children to get the objectives. Finally, I have to say that we should make some individual interviews to children,

because with them, we can attempt to gain information about the relation of the child with the real world.
