The geniuses of diagnoses: Dr. House and Sherlock Holmes
Did you know that Dr. House was based on the novel of Sherlock Holmes? People believe that the character of Dr. House actually existed but,like Sherlock Holmes, both are fictional characters. However, both of them have many similarities and differences that characterize them as geniuses of diagnoses.
The personality of House and Holmesgives a spectacular effect to each of their stories. Equipped with a dry, acerbic almost cruel sense of humor, House is enigmatic and conceals many facets of his personality with a veneer of sarcasm.He is narcissistic, like Holmes, and appears to disdain most people, leading some to label him "a misanthrope." He has contempt for most societal institutions including feminism and religion. House isan atheist and it is implied that he is nihilistic. Despite his cynicism, he does seem to care about his colleagues to a certain extent and while considering them "idiots" is able to sometimes putaside his pride and apologize when he has offended them in a particularly cruel fashion. House uses his lightness to conceal his affection toward his colleagues, and denies it to the extent that hehimself sometimes forgets it. He loves woman. On the other hand, Sherlock Holmes is very cynical. He is very clever and observant, of course. He is a loner, and he is never interested in women, the onlyone he was slightly interested in was Irene Adler, his true love. Nevertheless, he is also very brave and is willing to "rough it" in order to get a job done. He does not really sympathize with hisclients. If he ever makes a mistake or loses a client, he berates himself greatly. He is very conceited and vain, but he still admits that his older brother is more observant than he, though he himselfis more energetic.
