Charles Robert Darwin
Biography:

Charles Robert Darwin was born on February 12, 1809 at The Mount, England and died on April 19, 1882 at Down House, England. He was the son of Robert Waring, one of the most famous physicians on the outskirts of London. He was the grandson of the famous physician Erasmus Darwin (author of Zoonomia and Laws of Organic Life)

His mother died when he was 8.He had a good childhood, being surrounded by his beloved sister, his older brother and members of the clan Darwin. He showed particular interest in the collection of specimens and chemical investigations. But in the Shrewsbury School, where he was not comfortable, the director, Dr. Samuel Butler, publicly rejected Darwin for wasting time with chemical experiments. At 16 years old, Darwin was sentto Edinburgh University to study medicine, but was expelled at age 2. During his time in Scotland Darwin benefited from friendships such as the zoologist Robert Grant, who introduced him to the study of marine animals, and the geologist Robert Jameson, who satisfied his desire to know the history of Earth.

Disagreement with Darwin showed little interest to medicine, his father sent him to studytheology at the University of Cambridge in 1827. It had the same limited success in Edinburgh. The university did not offer any natural science course, but guided by his older cousin William Darwin Fox, Darwin met the circle of Cambridge scientists led by the cleric while botanist John Stevens Henslow. Soon, Darwin accompanied the priest on his daily walks and learned a great deal of knowledge.Darwin On leaving Cambridge in the spring of 1831 in preparation for a scientific voyage to the Canary Islands, read the diary of Alexander Von Humboldt remarks that dealt with a trip to South America. As a major recommendation of Henslow accompanied Adam Sedgwick on a trip to North Wales which lasted three weeks.

In August 1831, a recommendation of Henslow, Darwin was invited to sail asnaturalist aboard the brig Beagle. The route would continue along the coast of South America east and west as the islands of the Pacific to go around the world. Henslow suggested Darwin go as an observer and to the young company Captain Robert Fitzroy. Darwin declined the invitation, a decision which later changed to be convinced by his brother Josiah Wedgwood II. On December 27, 1831 Darwin leftPlymouth on the Beagle. The trip, lasting 2 years magazine, lasted 5, during which Darwin took important notes and control specimens to England.
Darwin thought that as man is also an animal would have evolved from a primitive to the present form. After numerous studies that human thought was related to apes.

He never said that man descended from monkeys but was very misunderstood by scientists ofhis age and religious men who accused him of being an envoy of the devil and a blasphemy to deny fixed-comb and catastrophic theories of the time. He came to portray monkey body and human head and mocked at his groundbreaking theories. He backed lawsuits against the church in which he "invited" to leave his studies on the whole evolution.

At the end Darwin died without knowing that his theorywould be globally recognized and proven by studies of comparative anatomy, embryology and genetic similarities (Years after Darwin's death was known the existence of genes and these were transmitted from generation to generation).
