What is the environment?
The environment is something you are very familiar with. It's everything that makes up our surroundings and affects our ability to live on theearth—the air we breathe the water that covers most of the earth's surface, the plants and animals around us, and much more.
Different types of biomes:
There are many different types of biomes in the wholeworld; each biome has similar climates or weather, and certain plants and animals, so are climatically and geographically defined as similar climatic conditions on the Earth. For example:

TUNDRA:Tundra is a biome where the tree growth is hindered by low temperatures and short growing seasons; this is the coldest of all the biomes. Tundra comes from the Finnish word tunturi, meaning treelessplain. It is noted for its frost-molded landscapes, little precipitation and also poor nutrients.

GRASSLAND: A grassland is a region where the average annual precipitation is great enough to supportgrasses, and in some areas a few trees. The precipitation is so eratic that drought and fire prevent large forests from growing. Grasses can survive fires because they grow from the bottom instead ofthe top. Their stems can grow again after being burned off.

DESERT: Deserts cover about one fifth of the Earth's surface and occur where rainfall is less than 50 cm/year. Most deserts have aconsiderable amount of specialized vegetation, as well as specialized vertebrate and invertebrate animals. Soils often have abundant nutrients because they need only water to become very productive and havelittle or no organic matter. Disturbances are common in the form of occasional fires or cold weather, and sudden, infrequent, but intense rains that cause flooding.

FOREST: Forest Biomes representthe largest and most ecologically complex systems.  They contain a wide assortment of trees, plants, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates, insects and micro-organisms which vary depending...
