Past tense

* For habitual or repeated actions in the past.
* For complete actions that happened one after the other in the past.
* For permanent situation in the past.
+ | You went to the mall with my friends |
- | You didn’t go to the mall with my friends |
? |Did you go to the mall? |
Short answers | Yes, I did / No, I didn’t |
Used to
"Used to" expresses the idea that something was an old habit that stopped in the past. It indicates that something was often repeated in the past, but it is not usually done now.
Examples:
* Jerry used to study English.
* Sam and Mary used to go to Mexico in the summer.
Adverbs of quantity
*Count nouns
* Many + plural countable nouns (muchos)
* Fewer: use with objects that can be counted one-by-one. (menos)
* More: nouns that are countable or uncountable (mas)
* Uncounted nouns
* Enough: use to mean sufficient and in a negative sentence to mean less than sufficient or less than necessary. (suficiente)
* Less: Use with qualities or quantitiesthat cannot be individually counted. (menos)
* Much + uncountable nouns (mucho)
Indirect questions from Wh-questions
To change Wh-questions (direct questions) using the be verb to indirect questions, the word order changes. The be verb now comes after the noun and we add in front of the wh-question word one the following expressions --- could you tell me, do you know...
Example:
Couldyou tell me what your name is?
Could you tell me what your name (2) is (1)?
Do you know who your technical teacher is?
Do you know who your technical teacher (2) is (1)?
