During Montag’s journey, he has experienced lots of problems and has learned new stuff. There is a popular quote byMark Twain that describes how Montag feels, “When we remember we are all mad, the mysteries disappear and life stands explained.” Mark Twain tells that you need to think the unthinkable and discovernew paths and mysteries. Montag realizes that he has emptiness on his life. Before he meets Clarisse he is not a ordinary guy otherwise his aspect makes him very inquisitive, intelligent, andfree-thinking. 
Montag aimed Kerosene towards all the books, until he’s way home he mets Clarisse a white dressed girl, however Montag meets her and they became friends. "You're one of the few who putup with me. That's why I think it's so strange you're a fireman, it just doesn't seem right for you, somehow." Clarisse said. In this moment Montag’s identity crisis begins during his conversationswith Clarisse. Also he realizes that there is something wrong with her and it would cause a conflict. Montag distances from himself and he takes care about his actions and movements. “Montag's handclosed like a mouth, crushed the book with wild devotion, with an insanity of mindlessness to his chest.” .

As Montag reads, he begins to understand what Clarisse meant when she said that sheknew the way that life is to be experienced. Montag appears meeting with the Mechanical Hound. At this point, Montag is now a traitor of his former life by choosing books nd truth over the illusion ofhappiness. “Do you know why books such as this are so important? Because they have quality. And what does the word quality mean? To me it means texture. This book has pores.” Faber starts explaining toMontag the importance of books he tells Montag that people needed Quality of Information, Leisure of time and freedom.
