There are great tendencies that shape the way we see the world, among those great ideals human beings live, think and die. History hasshowed us the importance of beauty on daily life, it is beauty what drives artists and great intellectuals to work and achieve what their hearth desires, nowadays thanks for themedia our harmonic occidental spectrum is being thin, rich and uncaring.
TV shows are the perfect thermometer when we want to measure the attitudes of the young, even whenthis thermometer is relatively new we could definitely say it represent the state of mind of a great population of a nation’s youngsters, and is this tube (along with theinternet), the one that sets tendencies and destroy icons, the one who gives and takes importance of our daily menu, we can call it with many names, the media is the responsiblefor giving an overwhelming importance whatever they decide, they are the shepherds who freely guide the sheep, being us, the young, to wherever they want, in my opinion this“kind” shepherds are leading us to a never ending abyss, where idiotic content, sex, drugs and tasteless jokes drive the young who see the hip channels to nothing more but ainsensible generation which priorities are upside down.
I am mostly speaking of MTV and VH1 and many other channels, which are joining the crusade for tomorrow’s consumers.In fact there is a definition in the Merriam Webster dictionary for the world kill in the slang section:
“Kill definition
1.      tv. to be very successful with anaudience; to perform very well for an audience. : She really killed them with that last joke.”
So I am entitled to say, boy they are really killing us with their quality content.
