Diferencias entre el Inglés Americano y el Británico
Hay varias variedades del idioma inglés, pero lasvariedades más comunes son el Ingles Británico que es el hablado en Gran Bretaña y el Ingles Americano que es el hablado en Estados Unidos. Hay diferencias gramaticales pero sobre de todo de pronunciación. No hay ninguna versión considerada la “correcta” ambos son válidos, sin embargo es importante ser consistente en el uso de uno solo y no mezclarlos, no solo porque le evitara confusiones a ustedal aprenderlo sino que también evitara confusiones con las personas que se comunique.
A continuación le presento alguno de las diferencias más comunes y básicas entre estas dos variaciones del idioma inglés.
Uso del presente perfecto
En el Inglés Británico el presente perfecto es usado para expresar una acción que ha ocurrido en el pasado reciente que tiene un efecto en el momento presente:Por ejemplo:
I’ve lost my money. Can you help me find it?
En Ingles Americano lo siguiente también sería correcto:
I lost my money. Can you help me find it?
En Ingles Británico lo de arriba sería considerado incorrecto, embargo ambas formas son consideradas correctas en el Inglés Estándar Americano.

Ingles Americano:
I just had lunch/ I’ve just had lunch
I’ve already seen that movie/ I already saw that movie.

Posesión
Hay dos formas de expresar posesión en inglés, “have” o “have got”
Por ejemplo:
Do you have a cellphone?
Have you got a cellphone?
He hasn’t got a job.
Hedoesn’t have a job-
Michael has a new car.
Michael got a new car.
Ambas formas son correctos y aceptados en el Ingles Americano y Británico, pero “have you got, he hasn’t got, etc) son la forma preferida en el Inglés Británico, por otro lado “Do you have, he doesn’t have, etc” son los más empleados en el Ingles Americano.
