Should the U.S. let illegal immigrants obtain a work permit?

America was founded with immigrants from all over the world. This is why it’s called “the land of opportunities” where dreams come true. Illegal immigrants should have the opportunity to work legally in the United States. A reform should be approved because illegal immigrants do jobs that nobody wants to do. Immigrants come to thiscountry with dreams. They want a peace of mind for their families, just like any other person living in this country. Illegal immigrants want to have a dignified life and a reform should be approve as soon as possible to help millions of immigrants.
One of many reasons, illegal immigration is a complex subject is because not everyone understands the enormous impact on US economy. Many if not allof illegal immigrants do jobs that are classified “dirty, hard” which are basically cleaning, picking fruits or vegetables on the farms, working on construction, etc. They get paid below the national average wage and get no insurance. Numerous times has been reported that some companies hired these illegal workers and don’t paid them. Instead, they get threatened to be reported to U.S.Immigration and Customs Enforcement known as ICE. Another way to look at their contribution to our economy all undocumented immigrants pay sales, property taxes and pay payroll taxes, so they're helping to bankroll Social Security, Medicare but won't get to participate in the programs because of their immigration status. This means no benefits, nothing at all at the time of their retirement. Also, theyspend billions of dollars each year, which supports our economy and helps create new jobs. One source states that “After decades of misguided policies America has now become a free-for-all. Our leaders betrayed the middle class which is forced to compete with welfare-receiving illegal immigrants who will work for almost anything, just because the standards in their home countries are evenlower.”(“Homeland Immigration in America”). Once again, the problem is not about the undocumented workers, but about how policies affect everyone.
Ex- President George W. Bush expressed once, “Illegal immigrants live in the shadows of our society. Many use forged documents to get jobs, and that makes it difficult for employers to verify that the workers they are here legal. Illegal immigration putspressure in public schools and hospitals; it strains State and local budgets and brings crime to our communities. These are real problems. Yet we must remember that the vast majority of illegal immigrants are decent people who work hard, support their families, practice their faith, and lead responsible lives. They are part of American life, but they are beyond the reach and protection of Americanlaw.” Almost, every president in the last decade understood that illegal immigrants are here to work. But in 2009 the US government launched “E-Verify” an internet- based program that allow employers to determine their eligibility of the future employees to work in the United States. The following states are obligated to use this system such as Alabama, Arizona, Louisiana, Mississippi, SouthCarolina, Utah, Virginia and all other state agencies will begin using it by December 01, 2012. This contradicts what a reform can do for illegal immigrants. Without a reform some states are taking laws into their own hands lacking in legal justification. A good example is the state of Arizona, where Sheriff Joe Arpaio from Maricopa County has a well-publicized raids aimed at arresting illegalimmigrants. His main targets are Spanish speaking speakers, referring to them as people with “dark skin”. A report from the associated press posted, “The civil rights report said Latinos are four to nine times more likely to be stopped in traffic stops in Maricopa County than non-Latinos and that the agency's immigration policies treat Latinos as if they are all in the country without documents....
