Chapultepec Park: this park is to Mexico City what Central Park is to New York.
On weekends and holidays city dwellers flock to is 2100 acres to enjoy its greenery, zoo, botanical garden, playgrounds, lovely, drives, bridle paths, polo games or boating on one of several lakes.

Band concerts are given on Sundays. Chapultepec is one of the oldest natural parkis the We stem Hemisphere. Many of its trees are centuries old and some stand 200 feet high. One of the oldest, the Tree of Montezuma, is 44 feet in circumference.

Near it is the monument to the young cadets who died defending the hill and castle in 1847. An interesting and exciting way to spend a couple of hours is to visit the gigantic and delightful zoo, which is free, and where the animalsare kept in as natural a setting as possible.
SANTO DOMINGO PLAZA:
Just three blocks north of the Zocalo at Republican de Brazil St you will find the arcades where professional typists, letter writers and artisans ply their trades.

Facing the plaza is the Santo Domingo Church, the firts church established by the Dominicans in MEXICO IN 1526.

PLAZA DE LA REPUBLICA:
One of the mostimpressive monuments in the We stem Hemisphere, the Monument to the Revolution rises to a height of 250 feet. The domes were originally built to be the roof over a new capitol building.

ZOCALO:
Mexico City's main square, officially dubbed the Plaza de la constitutions, has been the center bof town and of the Aztec Empire. It is surrounded by the cathedral, National Place Supreme Court Building,City Hall and the beautiful National pawn shop. When these building, are lighted on Saturday and Sunday nights, it is a spectacle worth seeing.

THE CATHEDRAL:
Located on the north side of the Zocalo, it is the largest church in Latin Americana and one of the largest in the world. It was built on the site of an earlier Chastain church which was completed in 1525 and demolished in 1543 when thepresent structure was begun.
The sanctuary which adjoins the cathedral was erected about 1750. The Museum of Religious Art, at the rear houses many vessels, statues brocades chalices etc. valued at more than 15 million dollars.
NATIONAL PLACE:
Occupying the original si of Montezuma’s place, this building covers two entire city blocks on the east side of the Zocalo. Bilt by, Cortez the originalstructure was almost destroyed by mobs in 1962 and had to be rebuilt. Portions of the original building still exist at the extreme rear. It was the official residence of the viceroys from 1698 until the establishment of the Republic; since then it has housed the offices of the President of Mexico. Additions haven been made from time to time, the latest being the third floor in 1909. Thehistorical murals within the central entrance and on the walls of the main staircase are by Diego Rivera. The Independence bell, which was tolled by Father Miguel Hidalgo on the night of September 15, 1810 to call the people to arms, now hangs over the central doorway. Every year on September 15th at 11 p.m. the President rings the bell in a dramatic reenactment of the Grito De Dolores.
