Karate En America
The American culture is highly based on stereotypes for races, ethnicity's, gender, and religions and even formartial arts. For example there is now stereotypes on movies, TV shows, songs and even on toys. I could easily think of at least ten movies at where they have portrayed some sort of stereotype. However whenit comes to some cultural or historical martial arts is even worse because they show something completely different to what martial arts really are. In this essay I will be analyzing the movie“Street Fighter” (2009) and how they portray some stereotypes, challenge others and misinform about the real roots of their origin.
As I was growing, I would always play this one game called streetfighter I was little so I wouldn’t really pay attention to it. It was few years ago that the movie street fighter came out and I paid attention on the theme and on what they really portrayed. In a way theydid show the history of martial arts but in their way it doesn’t really means precisely that this was true, however most people not just Americans believe that is the real deal.
