THE DENTINE
The dentine is an intermediate tissue, the softer than enamel. It is the second hardest tissue in the body. It is yellowish, and its high degree of elasticity protects against fracturesoverlying enamel. It is closely linked to the pulp, which specialized cells, odontoblasts, are compiled by leaving their cytoplasmic structure or odontoblast. In addition to cytoplasmic components,the dentine is constituted by a calcified collagen matrix, consisting mainly of collagen type I and dsp protein (5% to 8%) and tpi (50%), traversed by ducts or dental tubules from the pulp to limitenamel crown and root cement. The Dentinogenesis is the formation of tooth dentin by the body.
Dentin is radio-opaque by a relatively high impregnation of mineral salts. Its color is yellow, andresilience is a capacity of enjoying this tissue and depends on the organizational structure and water content. Comprises 65% of inorganic matter (calcium hydroxyapatite) in a 25% organic material and10% aqueous plasma. The organic substance is mostly collagen I accompanied proteoglycans and glycoproteins.
The dentin is produced by odontoblasts, which are located between the dentin and dentalpulp, and they retain their relationship with the dentin during the lifetime of the tooth, it can repair itself. Dentin presents dental canaliculi, containing the cytoplasmic odontoblasticprocesses.
The dentine is also formed in segments 4 to 8 mm, so that the microscope lines are called lines Owen, similar to lines of Retzius.
The Periodontal Ligament
The Periodontal Ligament alsocalled periodontal membrane, Desmodonto, periodontium, ligament or gomphosis dental alveolus, consisting of a thin layer of fibrous connective tissue, which binds to the tooth to the alveolar bone.It is located in the periodontal space, enter: Serving root and alveolar bone.
