Illicit trade in small arms and light weapons are mostly dealt with, in borders between countries. This trafficking not only feeds the crime rate, but it also encouragesterrorist to commit shootouts and attacks. Globally the top five exporters of weapons are, the United States, Russia, France, and The United Kingdom. Weapons are constantly trying to be legalized inmany countries and cities, but it has always been denied, since its consequences could be lethal. The UN has brought into a notice, an international agreement on global arms trade, ‘Arms Trade Treaty’(ATT). This consist on legalizing weapons trade. Terrorism has become the number one disgrace of the 21st century. It is evident that de number of lives lost, due to violent extremism has beenincreasing during the past years.

France is one of the top five-weapon exporters in the world. France is actually in favor of legalizing arms trade. France has attended to many sessions, in which isdiscussed the problem with the illicit trade of weapons.
Because of France great interest in weapon-trade, my delegation is willing to jointly sponsored and promote any resolutions, that will be made inJuly 2012, in the next Conference dealing with these topic. “France is confident in the possibility of reaching agreement on a universal and legally binding treaty, incorporating the highest possiblestandards of export, import and transfer of conventional weapons. The representative of France said “we will vote, once again, in favor of the resolution presented in this year on the Arms TradeTreaty” on October, 20, 2009, to the Conference on Disarmament.
