Lisbon is the capital and largest city of Portugal. It is also listed as a global city alpha. Located at the mouth of the River Tagus (Tejo), apart from the nationalcapital, is also the capital of the district of Lisbon, in the region of Lisbon, Lisbon Metropolitan Area, and is also the main center of the subregion Grand Lisboa. The city hasa population with 545,245 inhabitants and the metropolitan area stands at 2.9 million in an area of 2,957 km ² '4. This area contains 27% of the country's population. Lisbon isthe wealthiest city in Portugal, with a GDP per capita above the EU average.
