We use the present simple tense when:
* the action is general
* the action happens all the time, or habitually, in the past, present and future
* the action is not onlyhappening now
* the statement is always true

There are three importantexceptions:
1. For positive sentences, we do not normally use the auxiliary.
2. For the 3rd person singular (he, she, it), we add s to the main verb or es to the auxiliary.
3. For the verb to be,we do not use an auxiliary, even for questions and negatives.

Simple present, third person singular
Note:
* he, she, it: in the third person singular the verb alwaysends in -s:
he wants, she needs, he gives, she thinks.
* Negative and question forms use DOES (=the third person of the auxiliary'DO') + the infinitive of the verb.
He wants. Does he want? Hedoes not want.
* Verbs ending in -y : the third person changes the -y to -ies:
fly flies, cry cries
Exception: if there is a vowel before the -y:
play plays, pray prays
* Add -es to verbsending in:-ss, -x, -sh, -ch:
he passes, she catches, he fixes, it pushes
