This market research will be focused on the introduction of Beekeeping Tourism in the Republic of Panama.

This type of tourism would be a specialized part of Ecotourism.Currently Beekeeping tourism does not exist in Panama. Our market research will focus mostly on market availability for this business and how much the interested market would be willing to pay for it.This business will give people the opportunity to not only learn the advantages of honey consumption but also understand how hives work and how important they are.

The business will be taking placein the Apiaries of an existing beekeeping company here in Panama called Apiarios Malivern. Most of the Apiaries are located in the province of Chiriquí and since it is already a business andregulations are met for the production of honey in each of the Apiaries, the regulations applicable for the tourism part will be minimal as they will most likely involve only some tourism business regulationsand participant security.

Target Market
This service is targeted to middle to high class people of all ages, students and people who has a special interest in nature.
Benefits to the consumerThe consumer will be able to identify the benefits that honey consumption bring to the organism and the important of bees and their hives to the environment.

Price
The price will be set asfollows:

National (under 12 years of age) – US $50.00
National (over 12 years of age) – US $65.00

International (under 12 years of age) – US $80.00
International (over 12 years of age) – US $100.00This price includes:

* A welcome with honey liqueur for adults and honey candy for kids.
* A presentation of a beekepers work, life of a bee family and how honey »gets« from the flower tothe table.
* Transportation to the apiary
* Watching and open hive and the apiary in general
* Transportation back to the production site.
* Going through the different honey...
