Shopaholism or compulsive buying has profound effects on family dynamics. In addition to filing up our closets with unnecessarypurchases and empty our wallet, compulsive shopping can bring within several consequence sometimes we are not prepared for. Sometimes when we have an occasion and weare not able to present this individual with a gift it gives us a feeling of sadness somewhat important that creates a frustration feeling. With every addiction theexcessive shopping has effects than can be irreparable: emotional turmoil, family confrontation, abandonment, divorce, bankruptcy and huge financial debts.

It is alsoknown that suicides have been committed in relation to this unhealthy habit. Shopaholics find themselves with desperation of not knowing how to overcome this. In somecases people are arrested for embezzlement of funds because they present great necessity to get money to keep buying.

As evidence of this is lack of communicationwith family and distrust, because with frequency even though the problem is evident somehow goes unnoticed. This causes that the addict seeks refuge in shopping.Therefore it is very important to maintain a good relationship with parents and children. A good communication is necessary to express any problems or feelings of depressionthat are ailing in place to opt out for a superficial solution.

As mentioned being a compulsive buyer is no joke or funny business and much less in the society thatwe are living nowadays. The important thing is that we find any of the symptoms related to this causes and ask for help so that they can resolve their addiction.
