Olga Lengyel

Olga Lengyel (October 19, 1908 - April 15, 2001) was a Romanian writer and nurse, born in 1908 and died in America in 2001.
Lengyel was born in Romania, in a region dominated by Hungary. In times ofWorld War II was studied nursing and doctor's wife Miklos Lengyel, who attended hospital in Cluj-Napoca, before being deported to Auschwitz in 1944 where upon arrival parents and children died, herhusband died shortly after before release.
Lengyel was the only survivor of his family and wrote his experiences in her book Five Chimneys (Los Hornos de Hitler, in the Spanish edition), published in1947. His life post-Holocaust was dedicated to keeping the memory of men, women and children who died as a result of World War II.
After the war, emigrated to the United States. According to thewebsite of "The Memorial Library", Olga founded Memorial Library, located at 58 East 79th Street, which was sponsored by the State University of New York. Olga died in 2001, at the age of 93, havingsurvived Auschwitz, the loss of her first husband, two children and their parents in the Auschwitz concentration camp, and after having fought and survived three separate attacks cancer.
His testimony atthe trial of Bergen-Belsen, Dr. Joseph Mengele against was blunt.
