The oil field has as principal industry to PDVSA (Petroleos de Venezuela Sociedad Anonima) was created by government decree on 30 August 1975, absorbing operations and assets of the VenezuelanPetroleum Corporation on November 2 of that year and assuming as of January 1, 1976 planification coordination and supervision of all oil operations in the country, under the supervision of the Ministry ofEnergy and Mines, under the legal framework established by the Organic Law reserving to the State Industry and Trade of Hydrocarbons. This Venezuela Industry has operating activities, productionrefining, marketing and transportation of Venezuelan oil.
