“Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned.” - Siddhartha Gautama

One day, as Siddhartha was touring a park area of the kingdom, he saw four things that changed his life. First, he saw a sick person. He had never seen a sick person before and was shocked at the sight. Next, he saw an old person, someonestooped over and suffering the effects of old age. Again, he was shocked for he'd never seen this suffering before. Then, he saw a corpse! He'd certainly never seen a dead person before, nor did he even really understand the reality of death. His father had kept him sheltered from all these things, particularly death.
Finally, he saw a sage or holy man walking up the path. The sage passed by the sickperson, the old person and the corpse - and as he did so, his face and demeanor was filled with compassion, peacefulness and joy.
Siddhartha at that moment recognized for the first time the profound suffering that even the best of lives involves. He resolved to be like the sage, who in the midst of sickness, old age and death could still live a life of compassion, peacefulness and joy.
So, hereturned to the palace and made plans to renounce the kingdom and his life, and to wander into the forest to seek enlightenment.
After a great struggle within himself and the "demons" of ignorance, he finally broke through the illusions of his own mind and experienced true Reality. He achieved enlightenment and became a "buddha" - an enlightened one.
Fundamentals of the teachings attributed toGautama Buddha are:
The Four Noble Truths
suffering is an ingrained part of existence; that the origin of suffering is craving for sensuality, acquisition of identity, and annihilation; that suffering can be ended; and that following the Noble Eightfold Path is the means to accomplish this.
The Noble Eightfold Path
Right view, right intention, right speech, right action, right livelihood, righteffort, right mindfulness, and right concentration.
Dependent origination
the mind creates suffering as a natural product of a complex process.
Rejection of the infallibility of accepted scripture
Teachings should not be accepted unless they are borne out by our experience and are praised by the wise.

Anicca: That all things that come to be have an end;
Dukkha: That nothing which comes tobe is ultimately satisfying;
Anattā: That nothing in the realm of experience can really be said to be "I" or "mine";
Nibbāna: It is possible for sentient beings to realize a dimension of awareness which is totally unconstructed and peaceful, and end all suffering due to the mind's interaction with the conditioned world.

ALL AROUND THE WORLD PEOPLE WANT PEACE, BUT WE MUST START FIRST BYOURSERLVES.
Accept what is
There is only so much we can affect. What we cannot change, what we cannot influence no matter what, should not be a concern to us.
Meditate
Meditating for 20 minutes daily can have an enormous impact in all areas of your life. If you have a lot on your mind and you feel like your thoughts are driving you crazy, meditation can help you find peace. Simply close everything,sit back, close your eyes, and clear your mind of every single thought. Focus on the emptiness. You will be surprised what a mere 20 minutes of meditation can do to turn things around for you.
Spend time in nature
It is natural for us to be in nature, and this is why it feels so good and it is so peaceful when you take a walk in a park or bike on a trail in the forest.
Learn the power of asmile
Whenever you are laughing or smiling, something interesting happens. Not only does something happen on a chemical level to make you feel better, but it also stops all stress and negativity from entering your psyche.
Think outwardly
What I mean by this is that most of the time, we are so consumed within our own problems that we can no longer see the forest from the trees. Therefore, it...
