Living conditions for people in the U.S. are quitedifferent from living conditions in Colombia. In the first case, the low-class people in America do not have problems with infrastructure and public services, because they have jobs and incomes thatallow them to have these benefits. United States’ citizens also have some luxuries such as cars, air conditioning, heating, color TVs and microwaves. However, goods and services in the U.S. have a highcost. On the other hand, as Erica Williams said, in Colombia “the poor suffer the most”. Poor people in Colombia do not have the opportunity to live in a house or to have public services, includingwater. In these countries, there is a marked difference in the amount of money that poor people make per year. While poor people live in the United States with $19,000 dollars a year, Colombia’s poorpeople live with only $3,000. Additionally, poor people in the United States can receive help from the government such as welfare and tax breaks. For this reason, the quality of life of a poor personin the United States is better than the quality of life of a poor person in Colombia.
