Dyslexia is a learning disability that makes it harder for the person to read, write, spell and speak. There are different types of dyslexia, the first and less common istrauma dyslexia that occurs when the part of the brain that controls writing and reading is affected by injury or any kind of trauma. Primary dyslexia is the damage of the leftside of the brain and tis one does not change with age, this type is hereditary and more common in boys than girls. Secondary or developmental dyslexia is caused by hormonaldevelopment during early fetal stages, it disappears as the child grows and is also more common in boys. Dyslexia is known to affect different brain functions for example visualdyslexia is characterized by the reversal of numbers and letters and the inability to write symbols in the correct sequence. Auditory dyslexia shows difficulty in recognizingsounds of letters and/or groups of letters the sounds may be misheard. A very common symptom is dysgraphia, which is the difficulty of holding and controlling the pencil sothat the correct marks will be written down on the paper. Also letter and number reversal is the most common sign. This difficulty of reversing the letters and numbers isvery common up to the age of seven or eight and most of the time it diminishes by that time. Even though there is no actual cure for the disability. The most appropriatetreatment plan is one that focuses on strengthening the child's weaknesses. A better and more accurate approach may include a methodical study of phonics and using techniques designedto help all the senses work together efficiently such as specific reading approaches that require the person to hear, see, say, and do something by using all their senses.
