Summary (150 to 300 words)The mystery of the singing mouseMany year ago in 1925 a man called Clark found a little mouse in his house (Detroit), and the mouse could sing, Clark caught the mouse and put it in a cage.Simultaneously he gave the mouse to the scientist and they confirmed that. The mouse could sing like a bird, but the offspring can’t sing like the father. All these observations were noted in a scientificarticle.Well now the biologist Matina Kalcounis –Ruepell revisited the archive of the singing mouse and she is trying to study if that is true, also she is an expert in how animals use the sound.Kalcounis continue with her research she went to California, then she captured, marked and released the mice she knew were the mouse lived and put microphones on their territories and she goes to sleep. Thenext day took the equipment and carry to the lab. They listened the recordings by headphones and convert the recording to a spectrograph.Well finish with all the recordings take a lot of memory andtime so until now we only have to wait but there some interesting theories like the song is different if the mouse is male or female and the song is more complex if the mouse is more older . And untilnow the research gave an information that the mice can sing very high notes and rhe humans ears can’t listen. |
