Microsoft Excel Basics Summary

Possible ways to open Microsoft Excel:
1. Open it directly, double click on the shortcut: .
2. The other way is:
* Click on the Start button.
*Select All programs.
* Select Microsoft Office.
* Click on Microsoft Excel 2010.

Main elements of the Microsoft Excel 2010 screen:

* File menu: show the basic commands, Open, Save, Saveas, etcetera.
* Quick Access Toolbar: The personalized are where the most used buttons are.
* Ribbon: It’s the area where the different tabs are, they divide in:
* Start.
*Insert.
* Layout.
* Formulas.
* Data.
* Review.
* View.
* Spreadsheet: It is divided by 16384 columns labeled as letters and 1048576 rows, labeled as numbers.
*Name box: It´s used mainly to find fast the wanted cell.
* Formula bar: It´s where the contents of the cell, such as Text, Numbers or Formulas can be observed.
* Active cell: It´s the selectedcell, it can be spotted by a thicker outline.
* Label sheets: They are used to identify the sheets or change their name.
* Navigation buttons: They are buttons used to move to different sheetsthat contain the book when the space to visualize them is not enough to observe them.
* Status Bar: It´s the bar that let us see the general information of the document.

Open a new book.1. Click on File Menu option New.
2. Choose Blank, or the one you want.
3. Another clicky on Create and done!

Saving a work book.
Once you finished what you wanted to do, you have tostore it, naming it the way you can recognize it.
1. Click on file menu.
2. Select Save As…
3. Choose the folder in which you want the doc.
4. Type the name.
5. Choose the way youwant to save it: wich excel version, only-reading, etcetera.
6. Click on save.

Open an existing workbook.

Note that to do this, there has to be a document saved previously. Derp.
