Poly Pro is an enhanced version of Poly, a program for investigating polyhedral shapes. Both programs can display polyhedral shapes in three main ways:

• as a three-dimensional image,
• as a flattened, two-dimensional net, and
• as atopological embedding in the plane.

The three-dimensional images may be interactively rotated and folded/unfolded. Physical models may be produced by printing out the flattened two-dimensional net, cutting around its perimeter, folding along the edges, and finally taping together neighbouring faces. Poly Pro adds the ability to export the three-dimensional models using standard file formats forthree-dimensional data. After a model has been exported, it can then be imported into third-party modelling software.

Prior to registering, Poly Pro will only export models of cubes. This allows you to test the output with the modelling software that you use. If you encounter any difficulties, please contact us. You may register by using the included “Register” program or by going tohttp://order.kagi.com/?PY with your browser. Kagi is a third party which helps us process our registrations. We will send upgrade notices, by email, to registered users who have provided us with valid email addresses. Registration includes free updates to later versions of Poly Pro.

Poly Pro es una versión mejorada de Poly, un programa para analizar las formas poliédricas. Ambos programas pueden mostrar poliedros en tres modos principales:

• como imagen tridimensional,
• como una red bidimensional aplanada, y
• como una incrustación topológica en el plano.

Las imágenes tridimensionales pueden girarse y plegarse/desplegarse en formainteractiva. Los modelos físicos se pueden construir imprimiendo la red bidimensional aplastada, recortando luego el perímetro, plegando las aristas y finalmente pegando las caras vecinas. Poly Pro agrega la posibilidad de exportar los modelos tridimensionales usando formatos estándar para datos tridimensionales. El modelo exportado puede importarse en otros programas de modelado.

Antes de registrarse,Poly Pro sólo exportará modelos de cubos. Esto le permite analizar si el formato de la salida se adecua al programa de modelado que Ud. utiliza.
