With the development of advanced mass production in the early 20th century the need for industrial design education became apparent. Beginning in 1919, WalterGropius, Josef Albers, Herber Bayer, Marcel Breuer, Vassily Kandinsky and Paul Klee tried to merge art, craft, and architecture at the Bauhaus. It's amazing to see how compressed the time line is.Meanwhile I had Miss Reed 25 years later, she was a fantastic teacher who was able to help us see the importance ofboth the tinniest subtleties and the grandest gestures.
