SLOW CITIES
Slows cities or Cittaslow objectives are improve the qualities of the life. In a slow city the most important thinks are walk slowly, enjoy the food, the walks and enjoy the nature.There are a lot of requisites to be a slow city: small or medium city with less than 50,000 residents, make your products and handmade traditional style, preserving the cultural and traditional heritageof the region, haven’t got supermarkets or fast food shops, and it must have their own regional food, country can’t be capital, possess an environmental architecture use of renewable energy,legislation coherent with nature.
Cittaslow is a movement founded in Italy in October 1999. The inspiration of Cittaslow was the Slow Food organization.
Cittaslow has expanded broadly beyond Italy. By 2006,national Cittaslow networks existed in Germany, Norway and the United Kingdom. By mid-2009, fourteen countries had at least one officially accredited Cittaslow community. In July 2009, the smallseaside village of Cowichan Bay in Canada became the North American continent's first Cittaslow town.
In Spain there are only six slow cities:
* Begur, in Girona.
* Bigastro, in Alicante.
*Lekeitio, in Vizcaya.
* Mungia, in Vizcaya.
* Pals, in Girona.
* Rubielos de Mora, in Teruel.
HISTORY
When journalist Carlo Petrini came across the opening of a fast food establishmentknown in this historic in the Italian capital, something stirred inside. Definitely had crossed the line of what is acceptable and understood, almost visionary, the dangers that hovered over the eatinghabits of the population.
