Set: a well defined collection of objects
Domain: of a function or relation is the set of values permitted in the independent variable.
Range: is the set of values of the dependent variable corresponding to all the values of the independent variable in the domain.
Intersection form:a and b represent the intersection of the line with the horizontal (x) and vertical (y) axes respectively . x/a + y/b = 1
Variable: is a symbol that represents an item or thing not specified in a given set
Constant function: if a particular equation has m=0, as in y=7, then y will be equal to a polynomial of zero grade and the equation will .
General equation: the equation y= mx + bRelation: is any set of ordered pairs or any correspondence between sets.
Graph: is an abstract representation of a set of objects where some pairs of the objects are connected by links.
Cartesian plane: A plane having all points described by Cartesian coordinates
Function: an abstract entity that associates an input to a corresponding output according to some rule
Mathematical model: is adescription of a system using mathematical concepts and language.
Asymptote: is a fixed line to which the graph of a function tends to join; in other words, the distance between a point of the graph and the line called asymptote tends to zero.
Linear function: is a function which general equation is y= mx + b, were m and b are constants and m = 0
Slope-intersection: if y= mx + b, then m is the slope ofthe line and b the ordinate of the intersection with the y axis
Linear inequality: is an inequality which involves a linear function.
Constant function: is a function whose values do not vary and thus are constant
Intersection with the axis: the intersection y of a function is the value of y when x=0. The intersection x of a function is the value of x when y=0
Horizontal and vertical lines: ify= constant, whose slope is 0. If x= constant, so it does not have slope
Complex number: is the sum of a real ans imaginary number, and has the form a + b I, from where ¨a¨ and ¨b¨ are real numbers and ¨i¨ is the unit of imaginary numbers.
Quadratic function: has the following general equation: y= ax2 + bx + c. from where a, b and c constants that can have any value, except the constant ¨a¨...
