CentOS 6.4 disponible.. + Como configurarlo :)
El 9 de Marzo del 2013 fue lanzada la nueva versión de CentOS 6.4. Abajo os dejo el anuncio oficial mas un tutorial de cómo configurar CentOS 6.4 en su sistema de escritorio o portátil.

“On March 9, Karanbir Singh announced the immediate availability for download of CentOS 6.4, for both the 32-bit and 64-bit architecture.”
CentOS6.4 is an Enterprise-class Linux Distribution derived from sources freely provided to the public by the Upstream OS Provider, more precisely Red Hat. It’s the forth update in the 6.x branch of the series and comes with lot of bug fixes, updates and new functionalities.
The users can upgrade from CentOS 6.3 or from any other release in the 6.x branch. The process is simple and all it requires isto run the “yum update” command.
Running “yum list updates” before doing the update is recommended, so users can get a list of packages that are going to be updated. To check if you are indeed on CentOS-6.3, run: “rpm -q centos-release” and that should return: “centos-release-6-3.el5.centos.1.”
CentOS-6.4 is based on the upstream release EL 6.4 and includes packages from all variants. Allupstream repositories have been combined into one, to make it easier for end users to work with.
Highlights of CentOS 6.4:
• Microsoft Hyper-V drivers have been added to allow CentOS to be more efficient as a Virtual Machine when installed on Microsoft Hyper-V server;
• The samba4 libraries (provided by the samba4-libs package) have been upgraded to the latest upstream version to improveinteroperability with Active Directory (AD) domains. If you upgrade from CentOS-6.3 to CentOS-6.4 and you have Samba in use, make sure to uninstall the samba4 package to avoid conflicts during the upgrade. samba4 is still – at least in part – considered a technology preview;
• As announced in the CentOS-6.3 Release Notes, matahari is now deprecated. CentOS-6.4 ships one last update that should remove allremains of matahari. To ensure all remains are erased run yum erase matahari* after updating to 6.4;
• dev86, iasl, and qemu-guest-agent have been added to the i386 architecture.

Cabe destacar que toda la gente que tengainstalado CentOS en su versión 6.x actualizarán su sistema sin ningún problema :). Usuarios de CentOS inferiores a la serie 6 no tienen ningún modo de actualización a ésta.
Ahora vamos a configurar CentOS 6.4 para todos los usuarios que como yo utilizan este sistema en el escritorio o portátil:
Agregamos los repositorios extra:
Vamos a Sistema » Administración » Agregar, quitar software y una vez seabra el programa vamos a Sistema » Repositorios.
Ahí marcamos las casillas Base, Contrib, Extras, Plus, Updates de CentOS-6 únicamente. Las demás las dejamos sin marcar y cerramos.
Después abrimos la terminal y nos loqueamos como root y actualizamos:
yum update
Ahora vamos a instalar java:
Java lo instalamos abriendo el programa de agregar/quitar software y buscamos openjdk. Marcamos para lainstalación los paquetes OpenJDK Runtime Environment (los dos disponibles 1.6 y 1.7) y también marcamos el paquete icedtea.
Aplicamos los cambios.
Ahora vamos a instalar flash:
Para el flash vamos a la página de adobe flash y elegimos la version YUM para Linux. Procedemos con abrir y se nos instalara de manera automática.
Una vez añadido el repositorio vamos a agregar/quitar programas,...
