a) Read the text and answer the following questions

Answer these questions

1. What is the difference between an integrated circuit and discrete circuit?

The differencebetween an integrated circuit and discrete circuit are in the components. The elements in the integrated circuits can´t be separated from their overal assembly, whereas in the discrete circuits, theycan operate separately.

2. How can resistors be classified?

The resistors can be classified by the materials used for their constructionThere are three main types: carbon resistors,wire-bound resistors and film resistors.

3. Which passive components are mainly used?

The most used passive components are resistors, capacitors and inductors

4. The main characteristicof conductors is

5. Can you describe a coil?

A coil is a passive component of an electric circuit that, due to the phenomenon of autoinduction, stores energy in the magnetic field.Match the synonyms

Georg Simon Ohm was born in 1787 in Erlangeern, Germany. Georg came from a Protestantfamily. In 1805, Ohm entered the University of Erlangen and received a doctorate. He wrote elementary geometry books. In 1822 he conducted experiments about electricity and in 1827 Ohm first published awork that gave his complete theory of electricity although critics reacted to his treatment of the subject with hostility.

Nowadays, the proporcional relationship between voltage, current andresistance is called Ohm´s law, and is expressed mathematically as:

V = I x R.

This shows that current and voltage are directly proportional for any given resistante. For example, if you double...
