Much water has passed under the bridge since that October 1, 1974 when it premiered in the United States THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE (The Slaughter of Texas / The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, 1974). During those 30 years, hundreds of movies have based their plots on the idea of​​a murderer who is eliminating one by one to their victims in an explicit and graphic. We're not going to name titles, but among the films of Michael Myers, Jason Voorhees those of Freddie Krueger and would add almost thirty films, none of which can exceed 83 minutes to Tobe Hooper, with tiny budget, few resources no known actors and without much sign, managed to release that day.

Their livelihood was to assault the travelers who came by their domains. But Sawney and his property plundered not only their victims, killed them and also took them to the cave, where they fed onthem.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre plot shows a family similar to Sawney, with members psychopaths, cannibals, and sadistic fetish alike. Maybe it even necrophiliacs (at the beginning of the film informs us that a cemetery has been desecrated by unknown persons and bodies have been scrambled, leaving them in ridiculous positions or macabre, oddly at home this family is the rotting corpse of awoman). They live for the murder of unsuspecting travelers (in a scene in the back of the house in which they live, they sighted a large number of cars belonging expected to previous victims). One is called "Leatherface" (in any point in the film he is called so, not until the end titles where you can read the name "Leatherface") and is devoted to kill and prosecute the young characters the filmwithout the slightest hesitation. Leatherface, we assume, must deal with getting food to their families. It is a monstrous kind of transvestite, leather bearing the face of a woman as a mask (hence its name). Throughout the entire film, Leatherface carries three "masks" other (as well as their scalps). At least Leatherface and the infamous "Grandfather" (an elderly person confined to a chair) were"killers". In the sequence Leatherface kills Pam, Kirk's girlfriend, we had already started the "fatigues" Kirk with a chainsaw. In the strongest scene in the whole movie when the protagonist Sally are on their knees and try to guide the hand to the grandfather to hit her head with a hammer, obvious that all keep a sort of morbid fascination for that work at the slaughterhouse and, perhaps, feelpleasure in killing a human being just like a cow.

The sum of the macabre details of this sick family has a soft counterpoint to the profiles of five teenage protagonists. The most notorious is Franklin (Paul A. Partain), who travels with his sister Sally (Marilyn Burns, a "Scream Queen" of the screen). A couple, Kirk and Pam (Terry Vail and William McMinn) completes the picture.
