Thanksgiving Day is one of the most important celebrations in the United States, and there is not aU.S. citizen or resident who does not know it. The first day of Thanksgiving was held in 1621 in the midst of enormous happiness of Plymouth Colony raise a crop after the very hard winter before. That year, 1621, Governor William Bradford proclaimed a day to give thanks. Settlers were invited to the natives of the place, the Wampanoag Indians, and held it as they did in the traditionalcelebrations of the harvest in England: singing religious songs, praying and sharing food, for which meets, fruit, vegetables, bread, meat and others, orchards and farms and, regardless of who did whator how much, all eat in harmony peace and joy. The mid-1800s, many already recognized States celebrated the day, but equal with the colonies-not at the same time, so the poet and Editor Sarahj. Hale began to advocate for a national, unified, Thanksgiving day. During the Civil War, President Abraham Lincoln, looking for a way to unite the nation, discussed the matter with Sarah and in1863 gave his statement the day of Thanksgiving, establishing the last Thursday of November as a day that should be held throughout the country.

In 1939, 1940 and 1941 President Franklin D.Roosevelt, seeking to lengthen the Christmas shopping season, proclaimed that the day should be held on the third Thursday, but unleashed so tremendous controversy in 1941 Congress intervened and decreedthat Thanksgiving should fall every year on the fourth Thursday of November, where is located to date.
Not only Thanksgiving Day is to eat Turkey in peace and joy if not also to buy much becausethe offers are really impressive. But not this well so that all U.S. students do not arrive late to classes by long rows of shopping, not necessarily classes! This if that is a great big celebration.
