The Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon is a steep-sided canyon, located in the north of Arizona, in USA. Was created by the Colorado River and is considered one of the Seven Natural Wonders of theWorld.
The Grand Canyon is 446 km long. Nearly two billion years of the Earth's geological history have been exposed as the Colorado River and its tributaries cut their channelsthrough layer after layer of rock while the Colorado Plateau was uplifted, while the specific geologic processes that formed the Grand Canyon are the subject of debate bygeologists.

The Grand Canyon National Park was designated in 1919 and is one of the world’s premier natural attractions, attracting about fivemillion visitors per year. In, pets are allowed in a few trails chain and areas allowed for campfires. In the south rim can run and give helicopter tours.

In 1956 the Grand Canyon was the site of the deadliest commercial aviation disaster in history at the time,two propeller-driven airliners collided above the canyon The wreckage fell into the eastern portion of the canyon. The disaster killed all 128 passengers aboard both planes.
