Chapter # 1
My name is Alexis Johanna, I’m 14 years old.
Today is Tuesday, that means family breakfast. We don’t always have the opportunity to have breakfast together since my parents have a long day of work, but they always act in a friendly way to me.
Alexis-that's mymother calling.
-I’ll be right down.
- Hurry up, your breakfast is already served.
'Good morning,' says my father reading his newspaper on the table, typical of every morning.
-Good morning. I answer
We sat in the dining room and chatted for a while.
I was about to finish my breakfast when suddenly the phone rings and my mother answers. My mom goes to the other room with the phone in hand andcloses the door crying. Then my father goes with my mother and I am left alone in the room without knowing what to do. A few minutes later my dad gets out of the room hugging my mom. That's when my dad says:
-Alexis, there will be a war and we must prepare.
-What, we are fighting a war!
I felt some chills all over my body, I never imagined that this would happen.
-Just me and your mother willgo to fight. My dad said
There is a moment of silence, as a tear trickles down his cheek:
-We shouldn’t be apart; you have to go far from home.
-No, it cannot be, and I do not want to get away from you! .
'It's for your own good. My mom says.
I feel so bad I ran to my room without even saying anything.
My tears are drained, just of thinking my parents will go to fight in the war.
I don’tknow reason why this war is happening has ever been discussed or at least, they did not told me.
I am worried what will happen to me, or rather what will happen to my family?
How long will this war be? Are prepared my parents?
Where do I go? Who will I live with?
And if my parents die?
Chapter #3
It's been four days since I called my parents, everything has changed at home, and we
Don’t evenspent time together as a family.
My parents told me to go to my aunt Kathia’s.
"Alexis" says my dad; "Time to go"
"I’m going."
I look at my watch it is 6:00 am I pack all my things, I'm right in the middle of my room,
when I turned to the wall, there is a picture of me and my parents from when I was
baby, everyone smiling and embracing. My mother and I are very much alike: our hair is curlyand brown, thin lips and nose and white skin; all I received from my father are his hazel eyes and eyebrows.
"Hurry up" my mother says "we'll be late"

Chapter 3
We are on our way home to my aunt's house, nobody talks, nobody does anything, we
focus only on the road.
I turn around to look at the clouds, is a sunny day, I see the birds flying freely, happily
singing, I'm here experiencing allthese problems, I wish i could be free like them.
I'll be living with my aunt and I know nothing more than his name and I'm curious about
it, so I wonder:
-How is my aunt Kathia?
-What do you mean? My dad says
Well, something as physically or emotionally.
-Well, she’s, special.
-Special, special in what way?

- Just behave yourself and do not pay attention to the things she says? Okay?-Okay.
I turned to the window and see several trees along the way, probably my aunt lives in a
cabin (I imagine it will be very nice). I have been all my life in the city and I think it would
be interesting to explore the forest.

Chapter 4

We arrived at my aunt's house and I start to take down my ludgadge
My aunt’s cabin is very large, it would be very nice, if not for the spiderwebs ordiscolored looks. I stared for a moment and felt some chills, when I turned around and
yelled, I watch a tall lady with long, straight hair, brown eyes and he looked like in his
40s. It's my aunt.
-Hi, Johanna, right? Says Mrs.
-Yes, but I prefer Alexis. We shake hands but she just stares at me and into the cabin. I
hurry and entered the cabin, is much bigger than I imagined.
