The future of wind energy
By 2020, the European Wind Energy Association, estimates to have more than20,000 MW of wind power to create wind energy. China and India are two countries that have decided to give impetus to this form of energy, which have been associated with European companies thatmanufacture equipment required for installation of wind farms. Mexico has a power of 1.575 kW in La Ventosa, Oaxaca, with plans to expand to 54 MW. Nicaragua also has plans to install a windfarm of at least 30 MW. In the Caribbean, the electric company in Curacao operates since 1994 from a small 4 MW wind farm making it the first wind farm in Latin America and the Caribbean.
