La estructura going to es una de las tres formas para hablar del futuro en inglés, junto con el auxiliar will y el presente continuo. A nivel del inglés coloquial, es una de lasestructuras más utilizadas en la actualidad, a diario, por los angloparlantes. Es por ello que aprender a utilizarla, tanto para formular oraciones afirmativas como también para negar y preguntar, es deimportancia crucial para el estudiante de inglés.
CÓMO USAR GOING TO EN INGLÉS
La estructura gramatical going to se utiliza en inglés para hablar del futuro cercano, esto es, para dar cuenta de accionesque sucederán en el futuro pero que se pueden ver o prever en el presente. Por ejemplo, para decir que va a llover si vemos el cielo nublado o para afirmar que la comida va a quemarse si vemos el fuegode la cocina muy alto. La estructura going to también se utiliza para anunciar la intención de hacer algo, como por ejemplo, para decir que se ha decidido tomar vacaciones el mes próximo, o que se hatomado la resolución de ingresar a la universidad el año que viene.
Es importante tener en cuenta que el verbo to be se conjuga en presente de acuerdo a la persona gramatical de la oración.
