Verb tenses
En inglés existen tres tiempos verbales: presente, pasado y futuro. Cada uno tiene tres formas distintas: simple, continuo y perfecto, el cual también puede ser continuo.
A continuación se presenta la formación de cada tiempo y un ejemplo que será una guía de ayuda al estudiante para formar oraciones gramaticalmente correctas.
SIMPLE TENSE
En este tiempo existen dos formas enpresente y pasado: Una para el verbo (to) be y otra para los demás verbos.
PRESENT
Verbo (to) be:
Afirmativa: Sujeto+verbo+complemento
Ej.: She is a girl.
Negativa: Sujeto+ verbo not+complementos
Ej.: She is not a woman
Isn’t
Interrogativa: Verbo+sujeto+complementos?
Ej.: Is she a baby?
Yes, she is (a baby)
No, she isn’t (a baby)

Ej.: Peter writes everyday.
Negativa: Sujeto+do/does not+ verbo+complementos

CONTINUOUS TENSE
Este tiempo verbal tiene como auxiliar el verbo (to) be que, en estos casos, significa estar.
PRESENT
Afirmativa: Sujeto+ be+verbo ing+complemento
Ej.: They are studying English
Negativa: Sujeto+ be not+ verbo ing+complementos
Ej.: They are not playing

PAST
Afirmativa: Sujeto+ be+verbo ing+complemento

Ej.: They are going to study in France
Negativa: Sujeto+ be not+ going to+verbo +complementos
Ej.: They are not going to study in Spain
