This statement, located at the end of Chapter II refers to the ease with which it maintains a principality that has been governed for a long time by one family. Machiavelli concludes with the statement that the antiquity and continuity of a dynasty are able to erase from the minds of the people the ways and reasons why this has come to power. The coming to power of a dynasty established its cornerstone on which to build the kingdom under his rule.
